Results!

And some not-results...

We went to the house via B&Q, looking for lights, a steam cleaner that we hoped could have a wallpaper stripper attachment, and an angle grinder.

I'm a bit ambivalent about the lights, so took a load of photos and will have a look in the Screwfix catalogue and the one Steve gave us...  I'm not sure what I want, but I've seen a lot I don't!

The steam cleaner choice was: Kärcher or... Nothing.  The box wasn't helpful about whether we could add accessories, or even if such a fitting exists, so it's off to the internet for some research when it's not quite so late and our brains are a bit less tired.

We did find an angle grinder, and David managed to cut the taps from the bath, and he and Steve wheeled it out of the bathroom; it's a heavy old lump - not sure where we can put it, but if someone breaks into the house & pinches it, good luck to them!
Going...
... going...
gone!
He also cut out some more piping, and then was diverted to helping Steve run cabling through all the inaccessible spaces in the house [roof void and space between the dormers and the roof].  It's a good job he's been working on his flexibility at the gym and has a very slim figure, I reckon!

They achieved all the runs they were hoping for, but we had to re-think the lights in the hall; we'll have another light, but I don't think that is a problem.

The kitchen downlighters, on the other had, I have my concerns...

Oh, well, they'll either light the worktop, or Steve will be back  to fit a track for spotlights, I suspect.

I continued chopping off the brambles, and now Adam (or his man/men) can get to the base of all the trees needing his/their attention, so I'm really pleased.  I'd absolutely had enough before I finished the one remaining patch of prickles in the garden "proper", so David kindly said he's strim off the few remaining clumps, and I went for a bit of R & R, and chopped down saplings from the wood/where the wildflower meadow will be [apparently, it used to be a gorgeous bluebell wood, but the previous owner sold all the mature trees; shame, but it will make a lovely wild garden, so not all bad (we still have a few acres of bluebells under oaks)].

David finished off the bit I'd left, and then the part where we want the chippings to go, and then helped me excavate the edge of the drive before bad light stopped play.  I'm hoping to get the concrete clear, as I'm standing in mud when I've closed the gate and am getting into the car, on rainy days.

All in all, it felt like a successful day.

And I've found where the kitties went to; alive, well, and living in the annexe to the garage.  Not delighted mother puss didn't take them elsewhere, but very pleased they are all OK.
